* first sentence – What this means to you is..... People want pleasure or to
avoid pain.
* first paragraph – tell them what you are going to tell them. Highlight the
three main points.
2: Keeping their attention:
* Keep it to about three MAIN points
- You can break three
Main Points down into three minor points each.
This often means you have to cut out items etc.
* Using conversational and emotive language.
- e.g. Big issues is corporate speak
- Left brain versus right brain words
* Using quotes, stories and testimonials.
- selling the sizzle, not the steak and adding a personal touch
- by telling stories and quoting others, the copy will be more captivating.
3: Call to action
As Walt Disney said, “Quit talking and start doing”.
Start blogging, writing ezines and creating or updating your web site now.
* Make it easy to contact you
* Let them Sign up for a Subscription or updates from you.
* Spend a few minutes each week working on an article,
sending eMails or reviewing wording on
just one of your web pages. The results will speak for themselves.
